‘These guys seem to list every single Great British wine which I select for a write up.  This means two things – they have a lot of wine and it is clearly expertly chosen!’ Matthew Jukes, Daily Mail

Matthew Jukes and The Hawkins Bros English wine merchants

Simon and James, the eponymous Hawkins Bros, produce and sell English wines exclusively.

Dealing with over 38 English vineyards, and stocking a huge range of wines, we have something for every taste. We like to think we have the best selection of award-winning English wines anywhere.

Having taken on the arduous task of tasting every wine in the shop we'd love to share our knowledge and passion with you. We love to listen and recommend, do put us to the test.

If you can't make it to our shop our mail order service offers FREE next-day delivery when you spend over £100. We're always on the end of a phone to offer advice, or just click on the chat button to the bottom right.

Hawkins Bros' award-winning fizz, Brut Reserve  and Rosé Reserve, are grown and made on the Hogs Back in Surrey as is our beautifully dry Pinot Noir Rose. The beautiful, south-facing chalk slopes are perfect for growing the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier that make our wine.

Our new Bacchus 2018 is made in West Sussex on some lovely, minerally, green sand, reflected in the luscious elderflower and gooseberry palate.

English wine has been an incredible success story over the last decade, there are now over 600 vineyards in England with production set to double in the next two years. England's winemakers produce world-beating sparkling wines and their still wines are increasingly winning awards at international competitions with an emerging, unique, “English style” of wine.

The Hawkins Bros. are champions of this new wave of high quality winemakers.

The best way to find out about English wine is to taste it. We always have bottles open so do pop in, or come to one of our tasting evenings, and give your tastebuds a treat.
