Hawkins Bros. Fine English Wines
Simon and James, the eponymous Hawkins Bros, produce and sell English wines exclusively.
Dealing with over 30 English vineyards, and stocking a huge range of wines, we have something for every taste. We like to think we have the best selection of award-winning English wines anywhere. Having taken on the arduous task of tasting every wine in the shop we'd love to share our knowledge and passion with you. We love to listen and recommend, do put us to the test.
If you can't make it to our shop, our mail order service offers FREE next-day delivery when you spend over £100. We're always on the end of a phone to offer advice, or just click on the chat button to the right.
Hawkins Bros' award-winning fizz, Hawkins Bros Brut Reserve, is grown and made on the Hogs Back in Surrey. The beautiful, south-facing chalk slopes are perfect for growing the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier that make our wine. Our crowd-pleasing 2013 vintage won a Silver Medal at the IEWA (Independent English Wine Awards) in 2017 and is always on taste at the shop.
English wine has been an incredible success story over the last decade, there are now over 600 vineyards in England with production set to double in the next 2 years. England's winemakers produce world-beating sparkling wines and their still wines are increasingly winning awards at international competitions with an emerging, unique, “English style” of wine.
The Hawkins Bros. are champions of this new wave of high quality winemakers.
The best way to find out about English wine is to taste it. We always have bottles open so do pop in, or come to one of our tasting evenings, and give your tastebuds a treat.
We've been growing grapes to make wine in England since the time of the Romans. However it is only fairly recently that our sparkling whites and roses have thrust themselves onto the world stage and become recognised for the great wines they are. In the last 6 years English fizz has won more gold medals at international competition than any other country.
A combination of global warming, modern wine making techniques and the local food movement has lead to this happy state of affairs. So much so that the French can no longer dismiss us as a passing fad, as Taittinger's recent purchase of a swathe of Kent countryside has shown.
The Hawkins Brothers, having grown up in the heart of the English wine growing region, are passionate about English wines and almost evangelical in their determination for everyone to at least try them.
We can organise private tastings in your home or at our shop, perfect for birthdays, dinner parties or corporate events. Do give us a shout for more details on 07976 247903 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
