Kent Vineyards

Marketing itself as the Wine Garden of England, the vineyards of Kent include respected well-known producers like Hush Heath and Gusbourne as well as up and coming Westwell, treading their own quirkier path.

Kent vineyards are beautiful, abundant and easily accessible, and with more than 50 vineyards to choose from, visiting one has never been easier.

The South Downs chalk is one of the features that has enabled Kent to host quite so many vineyards. The low annual rainfall is also perfect for viticulture.

Sparkling wines are the great success story of recent years, with excellent growing conditions and similar soils to the Champagne region of France helping vineyards to consistently produce award winning wines. Although evidence suggests vineyards and wine-making were prominent in England over 2000 years ago under Roman occupation, the renaissance in English wine production is a relatively recent phenomenon.
