Although wonderfully fruity, this is a little more savoury than their previous expressions. So, expect apple pie crust, almond croissant, Abernethy biscuit, toasted hazelnut, spiced berry crumble, pizza oven smoke and something slightly umami, reminiscent of mushroom soy sauce. Those elements have quite a French quality, but it’s shot through with a very English-feeling red apple acidity. What we admire most though is the electric energy it possesses, which suggests it has a long life ahead of it and has you reaching for a second sip almost before you’ve had time to put the glass down after the first.
