Sugrue South Downs

Sparkling wine wunderkind Dermot Sugrue's own label. Marvelous stuff! Dermot Sugrue is one of the most influential winemakers in England, first making a big name for himself, and for Sussex’s Nyetimber, between 2003 and 2007. Since leaving Nyetimber, Sugrue has gone on to join Wiston Estate, another winery that has gained acclaim for its exceptional English Sparkling Wines.

Sugrue 'The Trouble With Dreams', Dermot’s own wine label is something truly exceptional. The second vintage went on to be the highest scoring English Wine to be reviewed by Decanter magazine, receiving 96 points and ranked in their top 50 wines of 2014. 'The Trouble with Dreams' was a simple concept: one wine per annum. Chardonnay dominant, that expresses itself and without force.

To celebrate the centenary of his grand uncle Dr Brendan O'Regan in 2017,  Dermot released Cuvée Dr Brendan O'Regan, or #BOR which had been almost 10 years in planning... And more recently #ZODO, a brave new zero dosage interpretation of The Trouble with Dreams - a prototype Brut Nature so well received in its youth it has now become a label in its own right.
